Puppy weight calculator

A rough estimate of your puppy’s adult weight from age and weight today.

Expected adult size

How this works — and its limits

Puppies grow fastest early on and then level off. Small dogs reach adult weight at roughly 8–12 months, while larger breeds can keep growing for up to 24 months (as summarised in Salt et al., 2017). We fit a smooth curve that levels off over that span for the size you pick, and work back from today’s weight.

This is a rule of thumb, shown as a range. The parents’ adult weights, your vet’s growth chart and your puppy’s body condition are better guides. For mixed breeds, choose the size you expect from the larger parent.
